Làmhan has cancelled its work for the remainder of 2024.
A Stirling-based sewing charity has warned it faces an uncertain future after having to cancel its work until early next year.
Làmhan, set up in 2021 to address the inequality of access to affordable, high quality sewing tuition in Scotland, said it is in a “challenging period” as it tries to find funding to survive.
The charity said it has been forced to cancel workshops for the remainder of 2024, promising to keep supporters updated as decisions unfold.
In a statement on social media, Làmhan said: “We’re sad to announce that we’ve had to cancel our planned workshops for November and December due to a lack of orders. This decision wasn’t made lightly, but unfortunately, it’s become necessary given our current circumstances.
“Right now, we’re unsure what the future holds for Làmhan. As a small charity, we depend on workshop participation, orders, and funding to keep our mission alive. We’re continuing to apply for grants and explore every avenue to make things happen, but we’re in a challenging period.
“To all our supporters, thank you for being with us on this journey. Your encouragement, engagement, and belief in what we do mean the world to us. We’ll keep you updated as we work towards a path forward.
“If you’d like to support us during this time, sharing our story or spreading the word about our work can make a real difference.”
