New survey launched

The Scottish Empty Homes Partnership want to hear from third sector organisations with their thoughts on if and how they can use empty homes to help to meet their housing objectives.

The partnership has launched a short survey that will take 5-10 minutes to complete and seeks to find out whether organisations have used empty homes to provide housing for their clients in the last twelve months, what obstacles they may have to using them, and what tailored practical support could work to make bringing empty homes back to use an option for them in the future.

Shaheena Din, project manager for Scottish Empty Homes Partnership said: “Scotland has more than 47,000 long-term empty properties. They are a resource that organisations can use to help them provide housing or emergency accommodation services.

“We are keen to hear from all third sector organisations so that we can understand their housing needs, look at how empty homes can help to meet them, and find out what additional support they might need from us to make this happen.”

The survey can be accessed until April 23.
