The Scottish Affairs Committee will hold a public evidence session with representatives of third sector organisations

Third sector groups are set to be quizzed on what issues they think are of importance.

The Scottish Affairs Committee will hold a public evidence session with representatives of third sector organisations to hear their thought on issues the committee should investigate this parliament.

Open to members of the public, the meeting with take place on Monday (16 October) at the University of Edinburgh informatics forum.

The session will give a range of third sector organisations the opportunity to inform the committee about issues that are important to them and give their views on possible areas for future work.

Witnesses who will appear include Rob Gowans, policy officer, Citizens’ Advice Scotland; Craig Wilson, parliamentary officer, Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations and Susan Hunter, senior policy and research officer, Youthlink Scotland.

Chair of the committee Pete Wishart MP said: "Having received a number of excellent submissions via Facebook, Twitter, and the committee's website, I am looking forward to visiting Edinburgh and getting the My Scottish Affairs inquiry underway.

“These visits are part of a commitment to bringing the work of the committee to the people of Scotland, engaging with their thoughts and ideas, and making sure their views are represented.”
