Reclaim the night march planned for Glasgow
Thousands are set to gather to “reclaim the night” and fight for an end to violence against women.
They will stage a night-time march through Glasgow’s west end, kick-starting 16 days of action aimed at empowering women and combating misogyny and inequality.
The Reclaim The Night march has been organised by Glasgow Rape Crisis.
A spokeswoman said: “This is an annual awareness raising event that marks the start of the 16 days of activism that highlights violence against women as a breach of human rights. All welcome! Come along to show your support.”
Marchers will assemble at the main entrance to the Botanic Gardens on Wednesday, 25 November, from where they will set off at 6,30pm, heading for the STUC headquarters in Woodlands Road.
Speakers will include Emma Ritch of Engender, author Denise Mina and comedian Susan Calman, both of whom are Rape Crisis patrons.
