Annie Gunner Logan has led CCPS for more than 20 years

A well known voluntary sector figure has announced she is to step down from her role.

Annie Gunner Logan will leave care sector umbrella body the Coalition of Care and Support Providers (CCPS) in Scotland at the end of April.

Logan, who has written regularly for TFN, has been at the helm as chief executive for more than 20 years.

The recruitment process for a successor is due to start soon.

She said: “It has been an enormous pleasure and a genuine privilege to lead this unique organisation. The opportunity to work with, and to serve, such an inspiring group of third sector leaders has been hugely rewarding.

“I am, and always will be, grateful for having had the good fortune to spend what has been the most significant part of my working life in the company of those whose skill, drive and ambition is focused so very clearly on the people and communities they support.

“The door is now open for an energetic and committed new leader to take up the reins and steer our sector through what will be, by any standards, one of the most exciting and critically important periods in its history as we work together to inform and influence the development of a National Care Service. The recruitment process will open shortly: I genuinely cannot recommend this opportunity highly enough.

“I’d like to thank all those colleagues & partners who have made my time at CCPS so enjoyable, and I hope to be able to do so personally, wherever possible, before I sign off.”

CCPS convener Andrea Wood added: “Annie’s contribution to our sector has been exceptional and she has worked tirelessly to support, promote and safeguard the interests of our membership. Over the years she has navigated the different challenges and opportunities with intelligence, insight and a deep sense of purpose, always keeping people and their human rights at the heart of everything we do.

“It has been an enormous privilege to work alongside Annie, and although we will feel immense sadness to see her step down, she leaves an organisation which, under her outstanding leadership, has become a highly respected, influential and authentic voice in Scotland with a reputation based on trust, integrity, principle and collaboration.”
