Win lunch in Edinburgh with Leonardo DiCaprio for just £5

This news post is about 8 years old

Donate £5 to Home the restaurant that feeds homeless people to be in with the chance of winning an exclusive meal with the Oscar winning actor

Last year it was George Clooney, now this year it’s Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Hollywood A-list actor and climate change activist is coming to Edinburgh next month and he is offering the chance to win lunch with him just for donating £5 to feed a homeless person.

To be in with a chance of winning all you have to do is donate the cash to Home, the new restaurant from social enterprise sandwich shop Social Bite and restaurant Maison Bleue.

Leonardo is not only a famous actor, he is a pioneering environmentalist and committed philanthropist

One lucky winner will be selected to have lunch with the Oscar winning actor, who like Clooney last year, will be in the capital to deliver a keynote speech at the Scottish Business Awards on 17 November.

Last year, Clooney helped raise over £400,000 for Social Bite, allowing them to feed the homeless for an entire year throughout Scotland.

This time round DiCaprio is a raising funds for Home – a new restaurant in Edinburgh which provides dinner for homeless diners every Monday, using donations left by paying diners from throughout the week.

As well as winning lunch with DiCaprio the winner will also receive an overnight stay for two with dinner at The George Hotel, 1st class travel within Scotland to Edinburgh with ScotRail and a £1,000 champagne and shopping experience at jewellery shop ROX.

Speaking about DiCaprio’s visit, Scottish Business Awards chairman Sir Tom Hunter said: “Leonardo is not only a famous actor, he is a pioneering environmentalist and committed philanthropist whose charitable work is making a global impact.

“To have him address our nation’s premier businesses and entrepreneurs is incredibly exciting.

“That the Scottish Business Awards is the largest awards dinner of its kind in the whole of the UK says a lot about the strength and ambition of Scotland’s entrepreneurial community.

“November 17 is set to be another very special night.”
