Sponsored content: course aims to make better third sector managers

As a third sector manager or leader, do you feel you are so tied up in the day job that you can’t find time to address management or strategic issues impacting your team and your organisation?

Do you wish for the time and headspace to explore some of these challenges with your third sector colleagues and peers?

The Challenges Group would like to offer you the opportunity to do just this. Our Chartered Management Institute-certified Managing with Purpose course. As a third sector organisation ourselves, The Challenges Group experiences many of the challenges that other third sector bodies face. Based on our relationship with the Chartered Management Institute and 15 years’ experience of delivering training globally, our Management and Leadership content is specifically tailored to the third sector in Scotland.  We continuously improve the content based on our own experience and that of our peers – our training participants. We work in partnership with SCVO to provide training and have worked with over 250 SCVO members and our peers so far. Third sector managers and leaders are busy people, but they frequently tell us of the value of learning and problem-solving alongside their peers in the safe, supportive environment of our online and in-person training.

Why learn with Challenges?

  • We have 25 years’ experience of supporting careers and optimising organisational performance
  • We have trained well over 27,000 people, supporting them to gain experience, build confidence and develop work-related skills.
  • We are a Strategic Partner of the Chartered Management Institute, offering certification, recognition and qualification of managerial and leadership skills.
  • 92% of our learners would recommend our training to a colleague.

Covering the key principles of management, leadership and managing team performance as well as exploring the benefits of Continuous Professional Development and reflective practice, Managing with Purpose provides individuals with a well-rounded skill set and a supportive network of peers in the sector. It is suitable for new managers or managers looking to develop their skills and gain professional recognition to aid future career development, build resilience and develop good practice within your organisation. In addition, participants become Chartered Management Institute (CMI) members, gaining access to resources, events, career development and other opportunities. Participants also have the opportunity to upgrade their learning to a Level 5 qualification in Management and Leadership from CMI.

This online course will be delivered via Zoom on six consecutive Wednesday mornings in October and November. Places are limited, so please see the attached flyer and get in touch if you have any questions, or to book: training@thechallengesgroup.com
