The Band Aid 30 single is the bookies' favourite to be Christmas number one.
However, the single - which aims to raise cash to fight Ebola in west Africa - has recieved brickbats as well as plaudits.
Many in the artistic community and beyond have challenged its allegedly "patronising" approach to Africa.
Most damningly, aid worker Will Pooley - who survived the disease and returned to Sierra Leone - lambasted Band Aid 30 as "cringeworthy".
Instead of buying the single, he suggested: “I would say that it’s a good idea to read as much as you can about what’s going on in west Africa, and if you feel so inclined then donate some money to one of the charities, like King’s, that are working out here, directly caring for Ebola patients.”
What do you think? Is Band Aid a worthy response to Ebola - or is it patronising and cringeworthy.
