The UK will go to the polls on 23 June to decide whether we should stay in or leave the European Union.

Over the next few days the campaigns on either side will reach fever pitch, with claim followed by counter claim. There may even be some facts thrown in along the way.

The debate is generating such heat as there is a huge amount riding on the outrcome - including our economic prosperity and possibly even the future of the UK itself.

That's why we're posing the question you will be asked at the polling station.

If we want to curb immigration then the humane, effective and responsible way to do it would be to stay in the EU, increase the funds we pay to it, with the proviso that these funds be used to improve the lives of the potential immigrants in their own countries so they would have less incentive/need to come here. We may also need to be tougher about paying out benefits to encourage our own folk to do 'immigrant jobs' , as well as increase the pay offered. That would put up the prices of various things ,but that's the price we'd have to pay.
