Poppyscotland has announce the arrival of a new regional fundraiser for its welfare centre in Inverness. Frances Beveridge joins a team going from strength to strength since the centre opened its doors four years ago. In her role, Frances will develop, implement and grow supporter-led fundraising within the region. A critical aspect of the job is to support the volunteer Poppy Appeal area organisers. Frances will also be working to maximise the potential of the schools fundraising strategy and promote and enable supporter participation in large-scale national events. She has been involved in fundraising for different charities throughout her career and she has successfully put on charity events.

The Stroke Association has appointed Stephen King as the charity’s new chair designate. Stephen is a long-serving trustee of the charity Sightsavers International. Prior to retiring in 2013, he spent 23 years as an executive director of RNIB. He follows in the footsteps of Sir David Varney, who stepped down in December 2016, after four years as the charity’s chair. Stephen takes up his role in August.

Linda Rosborough has been announced as the next chair of the Scottish Wildlife Trust's governing council. She will take on the role from Robin Harper following the trust's annual general meeting in September. Linda retired as the director of Marine Scotland in 2016. She has enjoyed a long career in the civil service, and has advised the House of Commons environment select committee. She holds a PhD in environmental planning and is a keen walker, cyclist and canoeist. She said: "I'm proud to be joining a charity with such significant achievements and committed members, volunteers and staff."

Loretta Minghella, chief executive of Christian Aid, is leaving her role after seven years. Downing Street announced Minghella as the next first church estates commissioner. The role involves chairing the Church Commissioners’ assets committee, with responsibility for managing the organisation’s £7.9 billion investment portfolio. Minghella is due to take up her non-executive position on 1 November, where she will work two days a week. She said she was “honoured” to have been chief executive of Christian Aid since April 2010 and would be able to build on this experience at her new role.
