Cancer Support Scotland has recently made two new appointments. Katie Mullen (pictured) joins as corporate fundraiser, having previously spent time working as a senior fundraiser at St Margaret of Scotland Hospice in Clydebank. Before that spent three years working at Changing Faces. Rachel Hardy starts as finance administrator, having previously worked as a finance officer with Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire (VANL) for nine years. VANL offers help and support to community groups and charities within North Lanarkshire.

A senior third sector figure is to return to her former role as an MSP. Sarah Boyack will re-enter the Scottish Parliament, giving up her position as head of public affairs at the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA). She had been a Labour MSP MSP from 1999 to 2016 and then took up her role at SFHA in 2017. Boyack will take up the seat vacated by former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale who announced that she will step down as an MSP for the Lothian region at Holyrood in July. Under the Scottish Parliament’s system, Boyack is next on Scottish Labour’s list to take up Dugdale’s seat.

A well-known charity which supports adults with learning disabilities and additional support needs in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray and Angus has announced a key appointment. Lynne Robertson has joined Inspire in the role of director of corporate services, with a wide-ranging remit which encompasses finance, business support, IT, property and facilities management. Aberdonian Lynne is a former chartered accountant who has extensive business experience, including time spent living and working in London and Glasgow. She trained with Ernst & Young and worked with a range of clients including entrepreneurial companies, charities and public sector bodies. She also has more than 12 years' experience in the social care sector, having previously worked for a leading Scottish charity. She has also been a non-executive director for Social Investment Scotland and is currently an external member of their capital and finance committee.
