Inspiring Scotland has appointed former fund manager Elaine Crichton to lead its pro bono programme. Made up of more than 220 people, the pool provides charities with access to a broad range of skills from accountancy, human resources and legal advice through to support with marketing, photography or business development. Elaine joins Inspiring Scotland having volunteered on the pro bono programme and has spent the past 18 years with Kames Capital, working in American equities.

Care and Repair Edinburgh has appointed Tim Dew as chairman and Louise Love as head of operations. Tim is a founder of Edinburgh business Mount Parnassus Partnership Ltd and joined the board of Care and Repair Edinburgh in 2014. He has been appointed chairman following the stepping down of Elaine MacMaster, who led the board since 2013 and will remain as a member. Louise joins the charity from Police Scotland, where she held the post of human resources manager. As head of operations, a new post, Louise will assist chief executive, Graham Harper in the daily running of the organisation. Louise has held two previous posts at Care and Repair Edinburgh, including that of human resources officer.

Businessman Stuart Taylor has been appointed as the new chair of Carers Trust, the UK’s largest charity for unpaid carers. Stuart has been involved with the charity since it was know as the Princess Royal Trust for Carers 2005. He became a trustee in 2010 and was part of a team that supported the merger of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Crossroads Care in 2012, which then became Carers Trust. He then joined the board of the new charity. Stuart will replace Andrew Cozens CBE, who will stay on for a further six months as part of a planned handover.
