Ian Price
The Woodland Trust Scotland has appointed Ian Price to its senior management team in the role of ambassador – a new post for the organisation in Scotland. He will be responsible for generating significant levels of support for the trust’s strategic objectives, particularly among major donors. Ian has been a senior manager and public affairs professional for over 20 years, working across the voluntary, business and political sectors. This included six years with RSPB Scotland as head of public affairs and marketing, and time as general secretary of the Scottish Labour Party in the run up to the referendum. Jen Paice
One Parent Families Scotland has appointed Jen Paice as the new chair of its board. Jen is the chief executive of not for profit tenancy deposit scheme SafeDeposits Scotland. She is a businesswoman and previously chaired the corporate social responsibility board of Lombard Asset Finance and wasvice president financial services for Scottish Development International. She replaces Ann Kelsey who was interim chair. Of her appointment, Jen, a single parent of two boys, said she looked forward to ensuring more single parents have the support, contacts and confidence needed to play a full part in Scotland’s economic and social life.
Scott Fraser
Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS) has appointed Scott Fraser as its new connect and communications manager. Scott joins from the national agency for sport, SportScotland and has previously worked for independent renewable energy giant RES and Erskine Hospital. In a newly created role he will now head up GCVS’s core policy, research, communications, equalities, membership and capacity building team. He currently sits on the board of the Drumchapel Citizens Advice Bureau and brings with him years of third sector experience in management, PR, marketing, public affairs and governance.
Harry Huyton
Animal welfare charity OneKind has appointed Harry Huyton as its new director. Formerly programme manager for the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge, Harry succeeds John Brady who left the charity to take up a fundraising role at St Andrews Hospice. Previously Harry spent almost nine years at the RSPB, with over four of those as head of climate change policy and campaigns.
