This weekend the not-for-profit organisation will be hosting a day of family activities and fun, with proceeds going to charity

Capital Sci-Fi Con are planning to take over The Howgate Shopping Centre in Falkirk for a day of family fun.

Known for their annual pop culture, comic and movie convention, which usually takes place at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, the not-for-profit organisation will be setting up in the Falkirk shopping centre with a range of activities on Saturday (31 August).

There will be movie cars on display: including Kitt from Knightrider, Bumblebee from Transformers, and more.

Fans can have their photos taken with characters from some of their favourite movies such as Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Gremlins.

There will also be a cosplay competition, with attendees encouraged to attend in costume to take part in the fun.

On the High Street and inside the centre, there will be traders selling merchandise and collectables, and artists selling their own original artwork.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).

Fiona Leslie, community fundraiser at CHAS, said: “We can’t wait to get our geek on in Falkirk once again this weekend. The cos players will be out in full force, with tribute prop sets for Ewoks, Gremlins, Ghostbusters fans and much more.

"We’d love to see the Howgate Centre full of sci-fi and comic fans dressed as their heroes. Our thanks once again go to Keith Armour and his team for bringing this superb event together, every penny raised goes towards helping families who use CHAS."

Tickets will be available in the centre on the day.
