Sexwise will give people information in an open and honest way

A new online campaign has been launched to give people support on sexual health.

Sexwise will provide 16 to 50-year-olds with the information they need to enjoy safer sex, and takes an inclusive, sex positive approach to providing accurate, evidence-based information in an open, honest and fun way.

The initiative has been created by the Family Planning Association (FPA) and aims to promote social wellbeing.

Bekki Burbidge, head of digital at the charity, said: “FPA was founded on the principle that everyone has the right to make well-informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health. Our aim with Sexwise is to offer expert information you can trust, without sounding preachy or judgemental.

“We worked with the brand and digital teams at our chosen agency IE, to create the Sexwise brand identity and website. Throughout the process, we spoke to members of the public and sexual health professionals, to create Sexwise with them in mind.”

Sexwise draws from accredited information and resources by which are certified by the NHS’ information standards. Over the coming months there will be a wealth of new digital resources and videos added to the Sexwise website, and the charity will be promoting sexual health and wellbeing through social media campaigns.

Sexual health expert Dr Verity Sullivan said: "The internet is a minefield when it comes to finding accurate and relatable information about sexual health. And yet this is where huge numbers of people are getting their sex education.

“Sexwise is a much needed solution to this problem – a good-looking, informative site that's easy to navigate, providing essential information to the public about safe and healthy sex and relationships."
