​CAS confirms suspension of chief executive

A major Scottish charity is in turmoil after its chief executive was suspended from her job.

Citizens Advice Scotland head Margaret Lynch is being investigated and has been off work for around a month.

Lynch took over at the organisation, which gives out advice on consumer, money and welfare matters, in 2012.

In the two years upto her appointment, the organisation was plagued with problems at senior level, losing two chief executive in quick succession.

A CAS spokesman told TFN: "We can confirm that the chief executive is suspended.

"At present we are unable to make any further comment."

Lynch was formerly director of the Scottish Mediation Network and her CV includes extensive experience of the voluntary sector, including work with the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, War on Want, and the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund.
