LinkLiving has launched a second social cafe, which aims to address isolation in the community

Those who are affected by isolation are being invited to enjoy a cup of tea.

LinkLiving has launched a second RealLiving social café in Rosyth following the success of its initial café in Torryburn, Fife.

Run by a group of volunteers, the new social cafe aims to expand the reach of RealLiving to more vulnerable older people affected by isolation, loneliness and illness, helping them to reconnect with their community.

The new cafe will be held every Friday between 10.30am and 12.30pm in Parkgate Community Centre.

Sarah Smith, director of LinkLiving said: “We are delighted to have launched a second social cafe in Rosyth. Older people are particularly vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation due to the loss of friends and family, limited income and poor mobility.

“People who are lonely or isolated are more likely to experience poor mental and physical health and we're therefore pleased that RealLiving can reconnect more people with their community, and in doing so, reducing these risks."
