The People's Projects returns next week with organisations from the north of Scotland featured

Five community projects will go head to head to secure a funding boost.

STV viewers will be given the chance to select where they think up to £50,000 worth of National Lottery funding should be allocated.

The People’s Projects latest round will feature on STV2’s Live at Five over five nights from Monday 16 April, with organisations from the north of Scotland competing against each other.

Projects by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation, Caithness KLICS Young Carers, Youth Integration Project CIC, Kindred Clothing by Front Lounge and Music 4 U in Aberdeen are those that are being given the chance to win the public’s votes.

The initiative has been operated for the last 13 years by the Big Lottery Fund, STV and The National Lottery.

STV2 presenter, David Farrell, said: “The People’s Projects can make a real difference to communities and lives across STV North thanks to funding from The National Lottery.

“We’re highlighting the incredible shortlisted projects and groups from across Scotland - all you have to do is tune in to Live at Five on STV2 and vote online for your favourite project.”

Martin Cawley, director for Scotland, Big Lottery Fund, said: “As the largest funder of community activity in the UK, we are proud to support grassroots groups that are using the vision, determination and drive of local people to strengthen communities. The People’s Projects showcases the best of these and is a chance for you to have your say on how National Lottery funding can benefit your local community.”
