Hard working charity shop staff and volunteers get recognised for all their effort

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) are celebrating as their Boutique shop in Cults, Aberdeen, won Shop Team of the Year at the UK-wide Charity Retail Association Awards this week.

Held at Keele Hall in Staffordshire the team fended off other national charities across the UK.

The Cults boutique saw off stiff competition from both the main nominations and the eventual shortlist of three shops, all of whom were judged by a panel of experts from the sector.

Yvette, Cults shop manager said “We are so thrilled to have won this award! It is such an honour to be recognised especially across the whole of the UK.

"The staff, volunteers and customers are at the heart of this award and I’d like to thank them all for their hard work and loyalty to the shop.

We have always had a great relationship with the local people in Cults and we have thoroughly enjoyed the last four years trading in the town.

"We never lose sight of the fact that all the money raised in CHSS’s shops supports people living with chest, heart and stroke illness across Scotland.”

Jay Hogarty director of retail at CHS said: “This award acknowledges the hard work the Cults team have put in to delivering not only exceptional profitability, but also in to making their shop central to their community.”
