Cash to the tune of £60,000 in now available for Scotland-based international development organisations.

The Scottish Government’s International Development Small Grants Programme opened this week offering grants to groups with a turnover of £250,000 or less.

The funding will support projects that help some of the world’s most vulnerable people and communities and contribute to the current international development strategy and overarching Scottish Government outcomes.

The grants programme is administered by the Corra Foundation and developed in partnership with Scotland’s International Development Alliance and Scotland Malawi Partnership (SMP).

It is designed to accommodate smaller funding requests: project grants up to £60,000 are available for over a three-year period. A maximum of £10,000 for feasibility and capacity building grants are also available, to cover a one-year period.

Corra Foundation chief executive, Fiona Duncan said: “It’s a privilege to manage the Small Grants Programme on behalf of Scottish Government, and to work closely with the other partners involved in this fund. Its aims resonate strongly with Corra Foundation’s vision of people creating positive change and enjoying fulfilling lives. The programme demonstrates what a big impact relatively small sums of money can have for local communities, working with Scottish organisations.”

Scotland’s International Development Alliance chief executive, Jane Salmonson added: "The programme makes it possible for organisations across Scotland to make a distinct contribution to the achievement of the sustainable development goals in partner countries.

"We welcome this new funding round, and applaud the Scottish Government’s commitment to boosting the impact of smaller organisations working out of Scotland.”

The application closing date is 16 November 2018.
