Homeless Street Team Glasgow urgently needs food and clothing items for those who are sleeping rough

A charity that helps the homeless in Glasgow has made an urgent appeal for donations.

Homeless Street Team Glasgow supports those on the streets by handing out food, drinks and clothing twice a week.

However the group is now running low on the supplies it hands out due to a high level of demand.

The most essential clothing items being sought are hats and gloves, jackets, jumpers, underwear, trainers/boots, jogging bottoms and zippers for men and underwear, trainers and boots, jogging bottoms and jeans for women.

Food donations in urgent need of restocking are pot noodles, biscuits and chocolate, crisps, juice, hot dogs, sugar, coffee and hot chocolate.

The charity is also looking for carrier bags, plastic bowls, plastic forks and spoons, coffee cups, deodorants, baby wipes, shampoo and shower gel.

A statement from the group on social media read: "All donations are greatly appreciated. We are running low in basically everything because of the demand of our services."

Donations to Homeless Street Team Glasgow can be dropped off at the group's premises at Unit 13, Abercromby Business Centre, Abercromby Street, G40 2DD on Tuesdays and Sundays from 4pm to 6pm and on Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm.
