Highland Spring announced as the official bottled water partner of Kiltwalk 2016

Children’s charity fundraiser the Kiltwalk has announced bottled water producer Highland Spring is to be one of its major sponsors for this year’s events.

The new partnership will see the company provide more than 10,000 walkers with healthy hydration as they take on the challenge and aim to raise more than £1.5 million for children’s charities across Scotland.

Sir Tom Hunter, whose Hunter Foundation relaunched the fundraiser last year by promising to underwrite all costs, said this year’s events are set to be the best yet.

“We welcome Highland Spring as our official bottled water partner for this year’s Kiltwalk events,” he said.

“This year is set to be bigger than ever and we have a significant opportunity to help young people most in need all across Scotland.

Together we can lead the world in becoming the first nation to eradicate child poverty

“Together we can lead the world in becoming the first nation to eradicate child poverty and it falls upon our generation to tackle this and tackle it we should. We are small enough, agile enough and committed enough to get this done.”

Les Montgomery, chief executive of Highland Spring, added: “We encourage people to lead an active lifestyle and hydrate healthily so the partnership with The Kiltwalk was a natural choice.

“We fully support this year’s events and wish all participants the best of luck as they raise money for children across Scotland.”

The dates for The Kiltwalk 2016 are: 24 April (Glasgow), 5 June (Aberdeen), 14 August (Speyside) and 18 September (Edinburgh).
