New e-learning tool will help disability charity reach out to many more

Accessible digital learning platform launched

The Yard Scotland is reaching more families, professionals and communities thanks to a new partnership.

The charity has teamed up with with eCom Learning Solutions and launched a digital learning initiative designed to bring The Yard’s inclusive ethos to a wider audience across Scotland - including Edinburgh, Fife, Dundee and its newest location in Glasgow.

The new online programme will adapt The Yard’s face-to-face training into accessible digital formats designed to reach a broader audience, including members of the public and professionals working with disabled children and young people.

It has been built with neurodivergent learners in mind - ensuring a welcoming, accessible, and engaging experience for everyone.

The training tool is based on real life experiences, supporting greater understanding of disability, inclusion, and the power of play.

The new digital offering will retain this values-led focus while allowing the charity to reach far beyond its existing network.

Sophie Jenkins, head of partnerships at The Yard, said: “We really valued eCom’s input. They take the time to listen and understand what matters most to us, and have already brought a great mix of ideas, structure and empathy. We’re excited to continue working together as the project moves forward.”

Colin McEwan, learning technology consultant at eCom, added: “The Yard’s team is brilliant to work with. They’re passionate about what they do and deeply connected to their audience. It’s great to be part of something that will have such a positive impact.”
