Secretary of State for Scotland David Mundell is to take to the stage alongside campaigners to discuss how to tackle poverty in Scotland
Secretary of State for Scotland David Mundell is to speak at an event on the third sector’s role in the future of Scotland next month.
The free event, Tackling poverty with Scotland's new powers, will also hear from award winning Scottish author and poverty campaigner Kerry Hudson, author of Tony Hogan Bought Me an Ice-cream Float Before He Stole My Ma.
Mundell will outline what the UK Government thinks these new powers mean and the opportunities they provide to the Scottish Parliament.
He will deliver his view on the role the third sector could play in shaping the impact of these powers.
Hudson and representatives of Scotland’s third sector, including Bethany Christian Trust chief executive Iain Gordon, will also cover issues surrounding how to use new powers to tackle Scotland’s most deep-rooted challenges, particularly poverty and inequality?
Tackling Poverty With Scotland's New Powers takes place on Wednesday 23 September from 2 to 5pm at The Hub, Edinburgh. To book a free place, email [email protected] by Friday 18 September.
