St Andrew's First Aid has been gifted the vehicles by the Morrisons Foundation

Two new emergency response vehicles will help volunteers at St Andrew’s First Aid to save more lives in Scotland.

The vehicles were purchased and fully fitted out thanks to a £70,000 donation from the Morrisons Foundation, a charity set up by the supermarket chain.

They will be in service later this month, and will be used by highly trained first aid volunteers at a wide range of events.

Kitted out with all the necessary emergency equipment, including a life saving defibrillator, an orthopaedic stretcher and a carry chair, the vehicles will further support the organisation in carrying out their valuable work.

Stuart Callison, chief executive of St Andrew’s First Aid, said: “The addition of these two fully kitted vehicles to our fleet, will enhance the first aid services we provide to communities across Scotland.

“The funding from the Morrisons Foundation has been vital in enabling us to meet the growing demands for highly skilled first aid support and to ensuring that we can continue to deliver the very best service possible.”

A cheque was presented on behalf of the foundation by Catherine McRoberts, from the Morrisons store in Anniesland, Glasgow. She said: “We were delighted to present this cheque to a charity which provides lifesaving support across Scotland.
