The Office of the Scottish Regulator is inviting charities to display the registration logo on their websites and email signatures

The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) has created a new logo for charities to display on their websites and email signatures to show they are a registered charity.

The registration logo (pictured below right) has been designed to help charities show the public they are entered in the Scottish Charity Register.

It should be used alongside other legal requirements organisations have to promote their charitable status to the public such as displaying a charity number.

OSCR’s Head of Engagement, Judith Turbyne, said it is hoped organisations find it a useful additional way to highlight their charitable status and maintain pubic trust.

“Our recent surveys show that regulation is a key element in encouraging the public’s trust and confidence in charities,” she said.

“In fact, 87% said that knowing that a charity is regulated by OSCR would increase their trust in that charity. It therefore makes sense to try to illustrate this wherever possible.

“In addition to this, it is a legal requirement to let the public know that you are a charity.

“We're keen to see as many charities use this as possible, and would greatly welcome any support from the sector in spreading the word.”

The charity registration logo can be downloaded free of charge to use by a charity from the OSCR website alongside a media pack with usage guidelines.
