New Scottish third sector specialist for law firm

She will advise on the incorporation of charities, legal structures, constitutions, governance and mergers

Scottish law firm Anderson Strathern has announced the appointment of a new director to bolster its existing team of third sector specialists.

Rhona Delaney, pictured in the centre above, who will be based in Glasgow, joins the firm’s charities and public sector team following demand for the firm’s specialisms across the voluntary sector.

She brings a wealth of experience, having specialised in providing corporate, commercial, governance and charity law advice to a wide range of public and third sector clients over the past decade.

As well as advising on the incorporation of charities, their legal structures, constitutions and governance, Rhona has advised on several large-scale charity mergers, cross-border registrations and changes in legal forms.

Rhona said: “The public and third sector team at Anderson Strathern already has an excellent reputation and I’m excited to be working alongside colleagues who feel as passionately as I do about supporting clients across the sector.

“Throughout my career I’ve had the privilege of working with prominent charities, Royal Charter bodies and large membership organisations, and I’m looking forward to being part of Anderson Strathern’s ambitious and driven charities team.”

Rhona’s appointment strengthens the charities team, led by charity specialist Gillian Harkness-McKinlay and supported by Victoria Simpson, who is continuing with the firm as a consultant, Claire Mitchell and Aleena Murtaza.

The firm has supported clients including the National Trust for Scotland, the YMCA and a range of universities.

Murray McCall, managing partner at Anderson Strathern, said: “Rhona is a brilliant addition to the firm, and brings her own enviable experience and skillset to an already strong public and third sector team. I’m looking forward to our continued growth in this sector, delivering unrivalled services to our clients.”
