They bring much-needed experience
Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) has welcomed three new trustees to its board, bringing with them decades of experience in finance, business and the creative industries.
The new appointments are Susanne Godfrey, a senior business leader with a background in finance and biotech; Ed Brooke, Managing Partner at The Leith Agency; and Roland Inglis, a Partner at consultancy Capco.
Susanne Godfrey, who qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC, spent 17 years in the firm’s restructuring team in both Scotland and London before moving into senior finance roles, including six years as CFO at law firm Anderson Strathern. She now advises boards in the biotech and medtech sectors and sits as a non-executive director at Carcinotech.
Ed Brooke has worked with The Leith Agency for over a decade, leading major campaigns for brands including IRN-BRU, Aldi, ScotRail and Network Rail. He also has a long connection with the charity, having supported Christmas appeals and Oor Wullie’s Big Bucket Trail in 2019. Ro
land Inglis leads Capco’s financial services work in Scotland and the North of England and is part of the firm’s UK leadership team. He also serves on the board of Scottish Financial Enterprise. With more than 27 years in the sector, he has advised on transformation programmes across banking, insurance and asset management.
The trio step into their new roles as ECHC embarks on a bold new chapter with the launch of its 10-year strategy, designed to support even more seriously ill children and their families visiting Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP).
Roslyn Neely, CEO of ECHC, said: “Susanne, Ed and Roland join us at a pivotal moment, as we begin delivering on our new strategy to ensure that no child has to face hospital alone.
“Every single day, 500 children walk through the doors of Edinburgh’s Children’s Hospital. Many are scared; their parents are overwhelmed with worry. We’re here to change that - to bring comfort, reassurance and moments of joy in the toughest of times.
“Our new trustees bring invaluable leadership, experience and insight, and they will play a key role in helping us achieve our vision.”
