June’s event will be the first in-person conference post-pandemic.

Pre-registration has opened for the largest voluntary sector event in the UK this year.

The Gathering, organised by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) and held at Glasgow’s SEC on June 15 and 16, will return following a two-year break, bringing together the thousands of faces from the sector.

Over two days, people from the voluntary sector and beyond will come together to enjoy a packed programme of over 80 workshops, seminars, and training sessions.

This year’s programme has the largest ever number of events during the Gathering, allowing people to connect, showcase their own work, and build their community.

David McNeill, SCVO director of digital, said: ““We’re really excited about welcoming people back to The Gathering . Over 100 event proposals have been submitted, covering learning topics from governance to funding to achieving net zero. We’ve also got lots of organisations sharing their experience on issues such as food poverty, wellbeing and international development.

“There will be something for everyone, as well as the unmissable opportunity for networking and informal learning. Pre-registering now will help us refine the final programme, activities and ways to support people to attend.”

He added: “We know The Gathering may be one of the first major events people have considered attending since the start of the pandemic and recognise some people may be apprehensive about returning to an in-person event.

“Our team are working with expert advisers to make sure the event is a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, going above and beyond government.”

By completing the form, SCVO will drop an email reminder when bookings open in late May 2022.

Those using this option will also be given the opportunity to book free delegate places before anyone else.
