The newly-named Refugee Sanctuary Scotland will also launch a new website.

A refugee support charity in Scotland has announced it will undergo a name change later this year.

The Refugee Survival Trust has confirmed it will be rebranding its name to Refugee Sanctuary Scotland.

The charity was set up in 1996 by a group of people who felt deeply concerned by the destitution facing refugees and people seeking safety in Scotland as a result of the asylum system.

They provide refugees and people seeking asylum with practical support when it is most needed.

The charity has also said a new website will be launched following the name change.

Writing on social media, they said: “We are excited to announce that we are in the process of rebranding our name to Refugee Sanctuary Scotland.

“Different name, same passion for supporting destitute and homeless people in the asylum system.

“Watch this space for our new website later this year.”
