Dynamic duo subject each other to a makeover for Comic Relief

River City’s Gary Lamont and Leah MacRae - who play Robbie Fraser and Ellie McLean on BBC Scotland’s popular drama - swapped their usual pre-filming make-up schedules for a Red Nose Day inspired makeover.

With each allowing the other complete creative control over their look, Gary and Leah hope that their resulting makeovers will inspire the public to make their faces funny for money this Red Nose Day - Friday 13 March.

The River City stars opted to make each other up using pantomime-inspired make-up with Gary transforming Leah into a glittery panto dame while Leah made Gary a colourful pirate.

Gary says: “After being a panto dame, I’ve become a bit of a dab hand at putting on the slap but it’s hard to make someone else up. Total hats off to the River City make-up team.

“Whether Leah looks better as a dame than me is questionable but she was the perfect model.

Leah adds: “Now that I know how hard it is to do someone else’s make-up, I promise now, and for ever more, to sit still and stop fidgeting in the make-up chair at River City.”

The River City duo are aiming to prove how easy it is to make your face funny for money this Red Nose Day, whether fundraisers paint their face, wear a Red Nose or don a wacky wig,

They’ll be joining millions of people up and down the country as they raise cash to help people in Scotland, across the UK and Africa.
