Scottish food banks to benefit from Taylor Swift donation

The singer played three nights in Edinburgh this summer.

A UK food bank charity has thanked global superstar Taylor Swift after the singer made donations to local hubs across the country.

The musician, whose dates included three sold-out nights in Edinburgh in June, donated to local groups on her travels - including in Scotland.

A total of 1,400 food banks will benefit as a result, with the donation going directly to food banks through the charity’s emergency grants programme, which supports the community initiatives which are most in need.

In a social media post, the charity wrote: “Kind gestures never go out of style.

“We’re so grateful to Taylor Swift for making another donation to help our community of food banks.

“If we all come together, we can build a better future where everyone in the UK is free from hunger.

“If you’ve been inspired by Taylor’s act of kindness, please pick up some extra items to donate to your local food bank the next time you’re at the shops.”
