A collection of recipes from the city's favourite restaurants will be sold to raise funds for a children's charity
A charity cookbook is set to provide the recipes for some of Glasgow’s favourite dishes.
A Taste of Glasgow will raise funds for Children 1st, featuring recipes from chefs such as Martin Wishart, Brian Maule and Gary Maclean.
The book has been released as part of Dragons’ Glen, a Scottish entrepreneurial challenge for businesses, in which teams aim to turn an investment of £500 into a profit of £5000 over a period of five months.
It has been created for the contest by seven employees from financial firm EY and aims to give novice cooks to the chance to recreate their favourite restaurant dishes from around the city.
Ashley Sharp, senior corporate fundraiser at Children 1st, said: “The EY team has created a fantastic product. We’re delighted that the book celebrates some of Scotland’s finest produce and chefs, as well as the city of Glasgow – where we have been supporting local children for over 130 years.
“The proceeds all go directly to helping Children 1st keep children safe and give families a better future. Every £25 raised could provide a therapeutic session for a child who has experienced abuse or neglect.”
The book is on sale now for £10 (plus postage), with all profits going to Children 1st.
