Walkers to stay refreshed for charity challenge

Walk the Walk has secured 80,000 bottles of water for this year's MoonWalk event

Charity walkers will be able to stay refreshed thanks to a new sponsorship deal.

Edinburgh-based ACTIPH Water has donated 80,000 bottles of water to breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.

The water will be consumed by participants and volunteers at this year’s MoonWalk events in Scotland and London.

The bottles are 100% recyclable and Nina Barough CBE, founder and chief executive of Walk the Walk, said this is a major reason for the partnership.

She said: “It is inspiring to work with a company that shares similar health and ethical values, and not least of all surrounding global waste and the issues that plastic is causing.

“The ACTIPH Water comes in 600ml easy to carry sportscap bottles, which means we can all be less wasteful with the water, and all bottles are 100% recyclable which makes me very happy.”

The MoonWalk is set to return to Edinburgh on Saturday, 9 June, with this year’s event featuring a Hollywood to Holyrood theme.

Thousands of walkers will set off on quarter, half, full or double marathons through the streets of the capital at midnight, with places still available.
