Centre On Constitutional Change analyses Scotland's devolution settlement
A major meeting will be held to assess the nature of Scotland’s devolution settlement and to ask: what next?
The Centre on Constitutional Change is putting out a call to members of Scotland’s civil society to attend a meeting analysing the Scotland bill, which is currently making its way through the UK’s houses of parliament.
Taking place on Thursday, 26 November from 7-9pm in Edinburgh City Chambers, the evening will begin with an overview of the bill itself - before discussing the path ahead and how best to keep people engaged in that process.
Everyone in Scotland should have a voice in debating Scotland’s future
The event is part of a series taking place around the UK, the conclusions of which will be presented to the Westminster All Party Group on Reform, Devolution and Decentralisation.
Nicola McEwen of the Centre on Constitutional Change and Titus Alexander of Democracy Matters will be on hand to answer questions but the focus will be on discussion and debate over the way ahead.
Professor McEwen said: “After the democratic engagement of the referendum campaign, it is disappointing that debates on the Scotland bill have largely excluded the public.
“Yet, the new devolution settlement will have profound implications for the powers, responsibilities and capacities of the Scottish Parliament and government to develop and deliver public services.

The event is free and places can be booked through eventbrite.
