Susan Williams on why you should make the 2019 Scottish Fundraising Conference a date for your diary
As Conference Chair, I’m delighted to announce the launch of the programme for this year’s Institute of Fundraising’s Scottish Fundraising Conference, delivered in association with our Headline Sponsor, Johnston Mailing.
The 2019 conference takes place in Glasgow on the 1st and 2nd of October and I look forward to welcoming peers from across Scotland to the biggest fundraising conference in Scotland.
The programme this year brings together a great 2 days of learning, with a variety of speakers from a wide range of organisations, large and small, local and once again, international. The programme includes various Masterclasses and sessions focussed on learning from our peers and providing practical tools we can take back to our organisations and put into practice.
Whether you’re a full-time fundraiser, or someone who has fundraising within their wider remit, or someone who advises other organisations, there are relevant sessions for everyone.
Scotland’s charities have lots of small teams or sole fundraisers which can be an isolating experience for many. That’s why the volunteer organising committee are delighted to announce that we are again offering a discount for those working in smaller organisations, which we hope will give them the opportunity to attend.
We are also delighted to announce a price cut on the one-day options for attending, which we hope will encourage you to attend and learn from each other and from some of the brightest not for profit minds from across the country, and indeed, the world!
Would you like to be the best you can be? Bursaries available for this top Scottish Conference.
We do our best to make sure the conference is affordable for as many organisations as possible, but we recognise that for some, there is simply no budget for fundraising training. Thanks to our bursary sponsor, Just Running, up to 15 places will be available for those who may not otherwise be able to attend conference. There are also volunteering places, which combine volunteering with learning, available for up to 15 people. Keep an eye on the newsletter and social media for more information about these opportunities.
With 44 sessions (4 being Masterclasses) delivered over the 2 days and introducing 60 speakers, including 4 from overseas, I’m very excited about this year’s programme and what it will deliver for our delegates. Early Bird tickets are on sale now and available until Monday 1st July. I do hope you will join us on 1st & 2nd of October – I look forward to seeing you there!
