ITV was hauled over the coals for running adverts promoting a cosmetic surgery clinic during Love Island. The Mental Health Foundation complained saying the ad exploited young women's insecurities about their bodies and portrayed plastic surgery as aspirational. Is the foundation right – should we ban these types of plastic surgery adverts if only to protect young people’s mental health?
