He’s brash, controversial and loud. But now campaigners believe outspoken property billionaire Donald Trump has gone too far in calling for Muslims to be banned from the United States.

It has led SNP MP Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh, the party's trade and investment spokeswoman at Westminster, to call for the tycoon to be banned from entering the UK under hate crime legislation saying his policies amount to hate preaching.

There have also been calls for Robert Gordon University to strip him of an honourary degree.

Do you agree? Should trump, who has considerable business interests in Scotland, be banned from the UK for hate crimes? Take our poll and let us know what you think.

This guy is a liar and a hypocrite who seeks to sow the seeds of discord, distrust and war like his blood thirsty pals (Blair, Bush, Rupert Murdock, Netanyahu etc). He has businesses in Muslim countries, said he had Muslim friends, travels to Muslim countries yet doesn't want them to come to the States.

I think there is more to life then preventing an idiot entering the country. And the SNP should know better and focus on it own people needs like dealing with the FRB fiasco
