Scots Charity Law Engagement: Transparency & Accountability (event 1 of 2)
Scottish Government in partnership with ACOSVO and SCVO
This event is in the past
The Scottish Government – in partnership with ACOSVO and SCVO – is hosting two FREE, online, interactive events, as part of its engagement with the charity sector to hear your views on enhancing transparency and accountability in Scottish charities and the possibility of increased regulatory powers for OSCR.
These online discussion events will provide those attending with an opportunity to help formulate the way forward on charity law in Scotland. The first of these will focus on transparency & accountability in Scottish Charities. The session will be led by Caroline Monk, Senior Policy Officer, Charity Law, Third Sector Unit, Scottish Government & Judith Turbyne, Policy and Sector Improvement at the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)
This first discussion will look at transparency & accountability in Scottish charities. This will allow participants to discuss the proposals and to debate the benefits and implications before the Scottish Government publishes its recommendations for next steps by the end of this parliament.
This event will look at and discuss: Publishing annual accounts and reports,
Trustee database, Removal of charities persistently failing to submit accounts
The second of these events is being held on Dec 9th, 13:00 - 14:30 and will look at increased regulatory powers for OSCR. This FREE discussion event can also be booked using the same link.
Attendees can join one or both of the events, each covering a different strand. Those who have previously attended consultations are also encouraged to attend to develop and refine the proposals consulted on in 2019. This will build on the responses received and will assist the Scottish Government in publishing its recommendations for next steps by the end of this parliament.
