☆ Update: Fully booked! ☆

The Scottish Cancer Conference 2022 will be taking place on Monday 28th November (registration 0900, open 1000, close 1600) at Surgeons Quarter, Edinburgh.

This year’s conference will be the first in-person event since 2019, and represents a unique, high-profile gathering of individuals and organisations involved with or affected by cancer, from patients to pharmaceutical companies, clinicians, academics, policy makers, and charities. It presents an unrivalled opportunity to share, learn, network and understand the latest developments in our combined efforts to beat cancer.

The theme for this year’s conference will be tackling cancer inequalities as well as taking stock more broadly of what has been achieved through the Scottish Government’s current Cancer Services Action Plan which comes to completion in March 2023. We will also consider issues that need to be addressed as a priority in the 2023 cancer strategy.

Confirmed speakers include:

• Humza Yousaf MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Scottish Government

• Professor Linda Bauld, Professor of Public Health, University of Edinburgh and Chief Social Policy Adviser, Scottish Government

• Michelle Mitchell OBE, Chief Executive, Cancer Research UK

• Dr Noelle O’Rourke, National Clinical Lead for the Scottish Cancer Network, NHS Scotland

• Dr Sally Clive, Consultant Clinical Oncologist NHS Lothian and Chair of the National Cancer Medicines Advisory Group

• Dr Tom Bird, Honorary Consultant Hepatologist, University of Edinburgh

We also have a range of exciting workshop sessions led by senior representatives from health bodies, charities and private sector organisations.

We will have a small number of free tickets for people with lived experience of cancer and who are not affiliated with an organisation who wish to attend. For further info on this, please email scotcancerconf@cancer.org.uk
