Navigating the Relationship Between You and Your Chair

ACOSVO

This event is in the past

The relationship between the CEO and the Chair of an organisation is one of the most important. It takes time and work to ensure that this relationship is one that moves the organisation forward.

In this masterclass we will learn more about this crucial relationship between the CEO and Chair as well as share tips and techniques for maintaining/improving the dynamic. This will be an opportunity for you to identify any areas for improvement in your current relevant relationship and have a better understanding of what might help nurture and improve (if necessary)how you and your Chair work together.

Governance and communication expert Shelagh Young will explore:

- The Complimentary Roles of the CEO and Chair

- Firm Foundations for the Best Possible Relationship

- The Recipe for Success

- Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway: Managing Difficult Conversations

Open only to CEOs and Deputy CEOs of Scottish voluntary sector organisations.

Shelagh Young is a facilitator, researcher and writer specialising in working with not for profit and co-operative organisations. She has a particular interest in supporting leaders on governance and communications issues. She worked on campaigns and communications in the international development sector before focusing on leadership development with disabled people and their families then joining the Sustainable Development Commission. She was a non-exec director, then Chair, of telecoms provider The Phone Co-op for several years before it successfully joined forces with The MidCounties Co-op and had held several charity trustee roles.
