Money Magnets: Organisational characteristics that attract funding

GCVS

This event is in the past

Develop fundraising approaches that achieve sustainability and long-term impact.

During this session we will discuss the types of information and characteristics donors, funders and sponsors are likely to consider when deciding whether or not to support your voluntary organisation. Using practical case studies and examples, we will explore key “money magnets” such as vision & mission, impact reports, strategic plans, organisational capacity, effectiveness, donor experience and external communications (including the fundraising ask). Our aim will be to inspire you to make changes that will improve your fundraising success.

By the end of this session you should be able to:

- Consider whether your organisation is ready to attract more financial investment

Identify your main organisational strengths and those weaknesses that need development

- Adopt an external viewpoint when talking about your work to potential funders

Communicate your work and mission more effectively

- Know where to find further help

Who should attend?

Community groups, voluntary organisations and registered charities across Scotland who wish to attract more financial support

Trustees and other volunteers, managers and staff
