Managing Challenging Times: Confronting New Options

ACOSVO

The voluntary sector in Scotland is currently facing multifaceted issues, largely driven by rapid changes and financial challenges over recent years. These issues have been growing for some time but in many quarters they are now quite severe. The transition from the current financial year to the next is likely to be a particular inflection point for many organisations for whom ‘business as usual’ will no longer be possible. This session will take an honest look at organisational sustainability and contingency planning in these difficult times of cost escalation, reducing funds and increased demand. In the face of potential reductions and closures, leaders need to be bold, open and innovative.

Douglas Westwater is CEO of Community Enterprise which has been running a crisis support initiative for around a year and will share some of that experience and will create an open forum for an honest discussion about possibilities.

Attendees will gain:

-Learning about options when facing difficult times from mergers to savings, re-structuring to new trading

-The chance to consider good endings, if endings look likely

-A chance to hear about the support that is available nationally
