She was once called the most dangerous woman in Britain. But TFN reveals she's got a cuddly side...
What makes a good day at work?
Working for what you believe is a privilege and most days are good but a great day is one where my brilliant colleagues efforts have been rewarded with a legal win or a parliamentary achievement or an influx of new members to Liberty.
How many hours do you normally work in a week?
I don't know. I don't count. With all the travelling, speaking, reading and persuading, I suppose it's most of the waking ones.

The UK government's threat to "scrap" our Human Rights Act.
What turns you into the office Victor Meldrew?
The rare times when people tread water or give up or forget how lucky we are to do this work.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
I've been so lucky but the biggest thrill comes from communicating human rights values to people from all walks of life up and down the country.
Your perfect weekend
A long sleep. A good book, play or film. A nice meal full of chat with family and friends.
Would your 16-year-old self be impressed?
I think I can look her in the eye.
Eastenders or emails?
Emails I'm afraid.
Most stupid human rights headline?
The suggestion that a fugitive was given fried chicken by the police because of his human rights. In fact they were trying to talk him down from a dangerous situation.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
The last thing that scared you?
The newspapers every day
Dream retirement
Lots of engagement with younger people.
Which Brian Cox?
The scientist. I've a lot to learn.
