Zara Kitson
LEAP Sports Scotland has appointed Zara Kitson as development and engagement officer. Zara is an activist with interest in LGBT and gender equality and human rights. Zara works part-time with LGBT Youth Scotland, is a steward of So Say Scotland, and is a member of Women for Independence National Council. Zara’s professional practice is rooted in youth and community work, with particular focus on participation and engagement.
Catherine Ronald
Voluntary Health Scotland (VHS) recently welcomed Catherine Ronald to the role of policy engagement officer. Coming from a diverse policy background ranging from agriculture to sport and with significant experience of working in membership-focused organisations, Catherine is responsible for ensuring VHS members are engaged and their views represented in relevant policy and consultation areas. Catherine’s focus is on VHS’s key policy priorities, currently health inequalities, health and social care integration, public health and mental health - she’s keen to meet with as many third sector organisations as possible over the coming months, both to get to know members and partners and, overall, to familiarise herself with the wide-ranging policy topics on the health agenda.
Iain Gordon and Grant Carson
Iain Gordon and Grant Carson (pictured) have been appointed to the Scotland committee of the Big Lottery Fund. Iain is the chief executive of Bethany Christian Trust. He has 25 years’ experience of leading service-oriented organisations in the private and voluntary sectors in the UK, Asia and the Middle East. Grant is currently director of employment and housing services at Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living. He has over 25 years experience of the health, social care, housing and third sectors. Grant has also spent nine years as a disability qualified tribunal member at the Ministry of Justice and for the past eight years he has been a non-executive director with Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board.
Andrew Senew and Euan Ballantyne
Andrew Senew and Euan Ballantyne have been appointed to the board of Care and Repair Edinburgh. Andrew is managing director of Home Instead in Edinburgh, a company providing high quality care at home for older people, has joined the board. Euan (pictured)has been with Tesco Bank since 2009 and has held leadership roles across several commercial and product areas. Elaine MacMaster, has stood down after seven years’ service to the organisation, her final two as chairman. Susanne Cameron-Nielsen is also to stand down, having recently been appointed chair of the Scottish-Danish Council. Susanne served on the board for five years.
