Homeless Project Scotland members were hit with “hot soup”.
Police have confirmed that a man has been charged after charity volunteers were “attacked with hot soup” in Glasgow.
Representatives from Homeless Project Scotland told of the incident which occurred on Sunday evening on the city’s Argyle Street.
Volunteers had been providing hot meals for homeless individuals in the city, before police were called to the area following the incident.
A man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He was later released on an undertaking.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 9.45pm on Sunday, July 9, to a report of a disturbance in Arygle Street, Glasgow.
“A man was arrested nearby. He was charged in connection with assault and released on an undertaking. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
A spokesperson for Homeless Project Scotland wrote on social media: “We are here to feed not to be attacked.
“Thank you to Police Scotland for the quick response.”
