New CEO takes the helm after 18 years at the organisation
Wendy Bates has been appointed as chief executive of Scottish mental health and wellbeing charity, Health in Mind.
Bates has been with the charity for 18 years working in various roles and is currently depute chief executive. She takes over from Gwenn McCreath who has led the charity for the past 14 years.
Be Morris, chair of Health in Mind said: ‘We are delighted to announce Wendy Bates as Health in Mind’s new chief executive. The appointment has been made following a robust recruitment process carried out by the board and an external advisor.
“As depute chief executive, Wendy has demonstrated the leadership and vision that’s needed to take the organisation forward and successfully build on the work carried out by Gwenn McCreath.
“We thank Gwenn McCreath for leading Health in Mind for the last fourteen years. Under Gwenn’s leadership the charity has grown and developed its mental health and wellbeing services to reach and support more people to live the lives they want to live. The board wishes her well in her new role.”
