Of 23 new Scots MPs, seven have strong third sector links
After Thursday's election 23 new Scots MPs made their way to the benches of Westminster.
Of these seven have ties to the charity sector, ranging from volunteering with community groups, board members of leading charities to policy roles with infrastructure organisations.
The vote also delivered the most diverse House of Commons ever with a rise in the number of women, LGBT and ethnic minority MPs elected.
Here we list the new Scots MPs with charity links.
Conservative
Ross Thomson, Aberdeen South - sits on a number of boards and trusts and is a governor of Robert Gordons College, trustee of Aberdeen International Youth Festival, trustee of Chris Anderson Trust and volunteers at Aberdeen Arts Centre.
Alister Jack, Dumfries and Galloway – chair of Fulling Mill, River Annan Fishery Board and Trust and Galloway Woodlands.
Douglas Ross, Moray – member of the Scottish Senior Football Referees Association and a board member for Moray Leisure Centre
Labour
Paul Sweeney, Glasgow North East – member of the steering committee for Fairfield Heritage Centre and trustee for Springburn Winter Gardens Trust, Medal Ceremonies team member Glasgow 2014 Limited, and a member of the board of directors at Glasgow Building Preservation Trust
Lesley Laird, Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath - board member of the Fife Economy Partnership, Business Gateway,Fife Coast & Countryside Trust and a trustee of the Muir Dean Trust. She is also chair of TAYplan and sits on the SESplan planning committee.
Danielle Rowley, Midlothian – campaigns and public affairs officer for Shelter Scotland

David Linden, Glasgow East – formerly worked at Glasgow Credit Union. He also has fundraised for Rape Crisis Scotland and Bethany Christian Trust helping homeless people.
