Nominations sought for best third sector director

​The Institute of Directors (IoD) Scotland is now accepting nominations for its Director of the Year awards

Nominations are now open for the 2015 Institute of Directors (IoD) Scotland Director of the Year Awards.

They are open to all those in the role of director, partner, chair, chief executive and entrepreneur, leading any size of organisation - a business, a firm, a social enterprise, a charity or from the public sector.

The awards are made up of eight national titles – including best third sector director – and six regional awards.

Last year’s third sector director of the year was Cunninghame Housing Association (CHA) chief executive Frank Sweeney.

Sweeney joined the west of Scotland housing association in 1990 when it had just 65 properties, at the time of receiving his award CHA had grown to comprise of 2,300 properties and employed 98 staff.

A spokesperson for the awards said: “Being a winner of a coveted IoD Scotland Award raises the profile of the individual and the organisation, which is good for clients, good for staff and good for business.”

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony and gala dinner, hosted by Reporting Scotland presenter, Jackie Bird, on 17 March 2016 at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow.
