SCVO welcomes new trustees onto board

The membership body will have fresh faces

Four new members have been elected to join the board of Scotland’s national membership organisation for the voluntary sector.

Following the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations’ (SCVO) AGM on Tuesday, the board will see people from across the sector and beyond join.

Carolyn Lochhead, Kenny Steele, Allison Barr, Chris Platt and Kim Atkinson were all elected by SCVO members.

Ms Lochhead is director of external affairs at the Scottish Federation Of Housing Associations (SFHA), while CEO of Highland Hospice - Kenny Steele - has also joined.

Allison Barr is chief executive of Team Jak Foundation, and Chris Platt is chief executive of Montrose Community Trust.

Meanwhile Kim Atkinson leads Scottish Sports Association as CEO and returns to the SCVO board for a second term, with Gillian Reid-McKee now stepping down.

Anna Fowlie, chief executive of SCVO, welcomed the five trustees to the organisation.

She said: “I'm delighted to welcome our 4 new trustees, Alison, Carolyn, Kenny and Chris to SCVO. And welcome back Kim Atkinson for a second term. I'd also like to thank Gillian Reid-McKee who served us very well over the last three years.

“We're lucky to have a board comprised of trustees voted in by our members as well as some appointed for specific expertise.

“That gives us a good breadth of experienced and engaged people to keep us on the right track.”
